Cristine Grimm, Teaching Artist
Cristine Grimm is a full time glass & metal clay artist, instructor, and arts consultant in West Michigan. She loves creatively manipulating the interplay of color and light within dichroic glass and showcasing it in cabochons and finished jewelry. Cristine holds certifications in both Art Clay and PMC, and provides fundamental instruction in glass fusing and metal clay to students throughout Michigan and beyond. She delights in providing encouragement and a strong foundation for her students’ expanding artistic endeavors.
Cristine is the author of “The Allure of Silver, A Step-by-Step Guide to Metal Clay Basics”, and the creator of Sweet Release, a metal clay release agent used in her metal clay classes since 2004.
When not teaching, she retreats to her West Michigan studio, creating jewelry in glass, sheet silver, and both fine silver and base metal clays. Her work can be found in several locations in West Michigan including Art Cats Gallery, StudioJSD, and NCCA- ArtsPlace.
Early adventures as a performing artist led to a passion for arts advocacy and a BA in Fine Arts Administration. Her experience in publicity, grant writing, and computer consulting, combined with many years in non-profit and small business management, provide a perfect backdrop for the many facets of her business, SilverFire Studios.
Cristine’s studio is located in Grand Haven, MI, just blocks away from the sandy shores of Lake Michigan recently voted one of the “best secret beaches on earth”.
