Second Level Silver Clay

Now that you’ve made a few simple pieces, it’s time to play a little in this skill-building workshop.  Start with silver clay and a bit of knowledge. Now learn a little more, play a little, and add some pizzazz. Explore simple yet crucial techniques for enhancing your silver pieces while gaining confidence with your success. Instructor Cristine Grimm will share tips and tricks for using paste and syringes, making your own bails, adding cubic zirconium, and creating connectors or embellishments using fine silver. You may choose to work on one simple piece start to finish, or begin a few pieces for later firing (recommended).  Sample jewelry will be on hand to help spur your creativity.  
​Pre-Requisites: Silver Clay I or equivalent 

Note:  This is a 3 1/2- 4 hour class.

Silver by Nature Ring

Natural textures and forms used to create your own custom molds allow design freedom as you continue in the world of metal clay and make simple and elegant silver ring(s) that build skill mastery and confidence. This low pressure, demo filled and informative class will introduce you to the next level of skills necessary for making beautiful rings from metal clay clay. You'll learn to make easy molds, how to size metal clay for rings, and discuss when and why to choose a torch or kiln

Silver Clay + Glass

​Immerse yourself in a fun metal clay project featuring multiple techniques. There's an elegant simplicity to this project but it teaches necessary technical information without complexity or overwhelm. You'll learn to design and carve a texture, form your metal clay, and use a syringe to place a glass cabochon. We'll discuss glass placement and capture for a successful kiln firing. All the necessary forming, sanding, finishing, and kiln-firing processes will be covered in this step-by-step, information filled class.
